Ministry Idea from First Presbyterian Church of Quincy (Presbytery of Florida)

Do you know how to sew? Would you like to share your expertise (which can be on a basic level) with others? First Presbyterian Church of Quincy invites you to join in their ministry at the Gadsden County Women's Jail, where volunteers give sewing lessons to female inmates. In this class, inmates learn basic sewing techniques while making their own pillow cases. Volunteers meet at the jail the third Wednesday at 12:00 p.m. ET to offer this class each month (except July). Call the church office at 850-627-6576, M-Th between 9 a.m. and 5 p.m. for more information.
Sunset Presbyterian Church: Sharing Meals at The Table

For Paul the apostle, a key sign of God's Kingdom was that Jews (the insiders) and Gentiles (the outsiders) could share a meal together at a common table. In that same spirit, Sunset Presbyterian Church in Fort Lauderdale joins together with families in their community each month for a Community Breakfast (and sometimes, a Cookout Lunch instead!) They cook a hot meal to share with those in their surrounding community... including sausage or bacon and eggs if a breakfast, or burgers and hotdogs for lunch! It is always a delicious meal complete with desserts and drinks, as well as fellowship and seasonal activities together. All are welcome at the Lord's Table! Meals are shared every last Sunday of the month.
