Flint River Presbytery Makes a Difference Through Giving

Flint River Presbytery coordinates the collection of items/donations and individuals bring the items donated at each church to presbytery meetings. If ever one feels as though they don't make a difference in the world, or that their once bright light has dwindled down to a tiny flame, they can think back to a recent Saturday presbytery meeting and BE ENCOURAGED.

Presbyterians, YOU MAKE A DIFFERENCE, in a thousand different ways - but certainly in your GIVING.

At the presbytery meeting you donated:

For the Dominican Republic

-600 pounds of aluminum cans that equals $600 in donations for over-the-counter meds

So far this year, we have raised a TOTAL of $1600.00 for theDominican clinic. That's ALL in recycled can money!

-Five bankers boxes FULL of toothbrushes and toothpaste in all sizes

(children and adults)

-Enough plastic bags to fill the back of a car to the very TOP (some of

which go to the Dominican and some will be used in an upcoming

mission project)

-A large recyclable bag FULL of children's shoes

For New American Pathways

-Monetary donations that totaled $1443.35 from our regular offering

-More boxes and bags and stacks of crayons, pencils, folders, notebooks, bookbags, looseleaf paper, Kleenex boxes, and colored pencils than seen outside of a school supply store. There were so many school supplies donated, that they filled the ENTIRE First Moultrie church bus with no room to spare.

For the Hunger Fund (Rise Against Hunger)

-Monetary donations that totaled $427.99 from our Noisy Offering

This money goes toward our annual Rise Against Hunger packing event scheduled for World Communion Sunday, October 4th at 2pm at the following churches: Westminster (Warner Robins,) First Columbus, Cuba (Blakely,) Covenant (Albany,) and First (Valdosta.)

Y'all, all of this is NOT nothing!! This kind of generosity makes a real difference in the lives of real people - literally - all over the world.

We are so incredibly grateful, thankful, and inspired by your continued generosity, thoughtfulness, and hope! We continue to be in awe of what we can do together!!
