Presbyterian Disaster Assistance (PDA) has opened three host sites for the rebuilding efforts in Western North Carolina!

Please read the details below if you are a volunteer team that would like to come to WNC to spend a week helping in the rebuilding and recovery efforts. Then reach out to Anne Waple: awaple@presbyterywnc.org with your preferred dates and the approximate number of people you intend to bring. She will be in touch - usually within 24 hours.
A few details to bear in mind:
The maximum number of volunteers that can be accommodated is 20 at one site, and the other two sites are somewhat smaller.
The three sites are in Spruce Pine, Asheville, and Canton, though volunteer crews could be placed at work sites across the region depending on the week/projects.
Minimum age on rebuilding projects is 16 years old. If you have a youth group or an intergenerational group, please still reach out, but these opportunities might be a bit more limited.
Each volunteer group should have a team lead/point of contact to help them coordinate details with your group.
There will be a small per diem cost to help our host sites manage the extra expenses associated with hosting. Generally this will be in the $15-$30 range per person/per night. However, please let us know if this might prevent you from volunteering.
There will be a full kitchen available to you and although there may be occasional meals provided by the church members or partner organizations, groups should plan on providing their own meals.
Each site will have showers onsite or nearby. Details about bedding and other amenities can be shared once they know which site you will be staying in, but generally it will be 'bunk-style' rooms with cots or bunks.
