The 226th General Assembly approved the creation of a new Social Witness Policy on Artificial Intelligence and Faith. The Committee of Domestic Engagement is “…study[ing] the responsible use of artificial intelligence, with a particular emphasis on the destabilizing potential AI has for employment, the economy, civil governance, and global conflict, increasing existing technological disparity, and the theological implications for its usage in the work of the church."
As part of the work of the writing team, they worked with Research Services to create a survey for distribution to mid councils and congregations to "gauge the perception of the wider church on artificial intelligence.” Would you please share this survey link with your congregations, and encourage participation in the survey?
