Now in its second year, this course will provide credit for candidates preparing as Commissioned Ruling Elders (CREs). But it is open to EVERYONE - pastors, ruling elders, deacons, and anyone who would benefit from a practical polity review. Even if you are just now considering CRE training, this course will fulfill the polity requirement should you decide to move forward.
The format will combine presentation, discussion, and short case studies. The Book of Order contains a wealth of wisdom about congregations, sessions, presbyteries, calls to ordained ministry, the relationship between moderator and clerk, and the Rules of Discipline. We will begin with the constitutional foundations of church government in the Presbyterian Church (U.S.A.).
There is no fee to attend the course. Please bring the newest edition of the Book of Order (2025-2027) or download it onto a device that you bring with you. Download it here.
Registration Deadline: July 20 at 5:00 p.m.
