Pittsburgh Seminary Summer Programs for Undergrads and HS Scholars

Pittsburgh Theological Seminary (PTS) has some unique summer program for next generation learners. This year’s program has paid residential internship tracks for both college undergrads and high school upperclassmen (juniors, seniors, and recent precollege grads).

Read on, see links for more information, and pass along info to youth and young adults who you think would be good candidates. The application deadline is May 1, 2026.

PTS invites Neighborhood Scholars and Undergraduate Fellows to ask “What’s Next?” as they find their place, find their passion, and find their purpose during these pivotal years of their growth and development.

The internship programs are more summer school than summer camp, as they integrate both discussion-based classroom Seminars with practice-based contextual Exploratorys (like a laboratory, but out in the real world). Even so, the undergraduate Fellows are analogous to camp counselors who serve as resident assistants in the dormitory and teaching assistants in the Exploratorys.

Fellows are both participants and staff for the summer, and are provided a $6,000 stipend. Neighborhood Scholars receive a more modest stipend of $1,000. Other than transportation to/from Pittsburgh, there is no cost to attend either program. Room and board, as well as supplies and expenses are covered!
