Reginald
(Reg) Victor Parsons is a native of Newton, Massachusetts.
He received his Bachelor of Arts in Philosophy and Religion
at Otterbein College in Westerville, Ohio.
While in college, Reg discerned a call into ministry.
Following college he entered Louisville Presbyterian
Theological Seminary and graduated with a Master's of
Divinity. His Doctor of Ministry work was done at Columbia
and Scotland, but dissertation not completed.
Following ordination in North Mississippi Presbytery
he has served pastorates in Nettleton and Plantersville,
Mississippi; Holly Springs, Mississippi; Eastminster
Presbyterian Church, Lexington, Kentucky; Ripley, Mississippi;
and Senior Pastor of First Presbyterian Church in Starkville,
Mississippi.
The last fourteen months he has served as the Interim
Executive for the Presbytery of East Tennessee. There
he enjoyed working with a staff of eight.
In Presbytery, Reg has served as Moderator, Council
Moderator, Chairman of Campus Ministry, Evaluation Committee
Chair, Treasurer of State Campus Ministry Board, and
Synod Representative from St. Andrew Presbytery. Reg
later served as Moderator of the Synod of Living Waters
and chairman of the transitional council.
Reg is married to Sharon Martin Parsons. They have
four grown children and five grandchildren. They have
made their home in Jacksonville, Florida.
